3 Step Easy Process

This opportunity enables you to potentially contribute to the future development of the Festival of Voices. You have the opportunity to develop ideas related to the Festival or an event of your own interest. The focus is on being entrepreneurial and demonstrating leadership. Much of the unit will be delivered online, and you can choose to either attend the Hobart based workshops on June 14 & 15, or tune in at a time of your choosing to catch up on the great speakers and engage in the online discussion groups/topics.

All speakers will be recorded so people can participate from all over the country.
Our keynote speaker is Sydney-based Jac Bowie, CEO & Founder of Business in Heels, a refreshing alternative to business networking for women. What started as a Sydney-only community just over twelve months ago has grown rapidly into a franchise model that now spans 33 Branches across six continents. Each Branch event attracts between 40-90 savvy female business owners and numbers continue to rise month by month. The brand currently resides in Australia, USA, UAE, New Zealand, Singapore, Thailand and South Africa, with Branch applications coming in thick and fast from every corner of the globe. Before embarking on her journey as an entrepreneur, Jac was director of the The Bijou Group, appointed to the advisory team for Sydney Mardi Gras and Producer of Short+Sweet festivals (the biggest little play festival in the world) in Sydney & Canberra.

Q. How much will this unit cost?
A. All domestic students will receive a HECS scholarship for the unit, and there is no Student Services and Amenities Fee so the unit is free.
Q. I did the Festival of Voices unit last year, can I do this one, and how is it different?
A. Yes, you can do this unit, and it differs in that the focus of this unit is on you creating an idea for an event or business, and you being able to develop the idea throughout the unit.
Q. How does the unit work?
A. Most of the unit is delivered online, and we will use the face-to-face (or a virtual) workshop to bring you in contact with local entrepreneurs and great speakers who can help you to better understand the challenges and opportunities for your ideas. So you will be guided through a process of developing an idea and then sharing it with others. After the workshop, you will have some research to do the revise your thinking before resharing your thinking.
Q. So I can do the unit online as well?
A. Yes, this year we are going to support the workshop process online to enable you to be with us in real-time and to also revisit the workshop speakers at a time of your choosing.
Q. If I complete the unit online, can I still interact with those who have chosen the physically attend the face-to-face workshop in Hobart?
A. Yes, The online blogging process will be the same for all students and you will be able to share your ideas, views and opinions with all students enrolled in the unit.
