What an amazing weekend it has been. The diveristy of the speakers, who bascially all doing the same; being succesful in their business, has totally inspired me. When I will come to the re-writing of my business plan, I will be inspired by the following questions:

  • Is was I am doing motived by my love/passion? (Jac Bowie)

  • Is my brand determined by my belief? (Peter Choraziak)

  • Will my product convert my consumer into a believer? (Rick Marton)

  • Have I given my costumers something to talk about (can they connect with my product, share it and fall in love with it)? (Rick Marton)

  • Do I understand how I am perceived by my stakeholders (Rod Shelley)

  • Do I know who I am talking to? And why would they want to listen? (Peter Choraziak)

  • Am I clever and innovative (have I moved away from eg. Target is not determined by demographics? (Kath McCann)

  • Is my product uncomplicated and thus simple? (Kath McCann)

  • People want to be in a creative environment, do I offer that? (Richard)

  • Have I spend enough time to find the competition as it’s nonsense to say that there won’t be competition (Suzi Watral)

  • Is my plan constructive disruptive? (Suzi Watral)

  • What is my legacy (LOVE this one) Paul Kooperman

  • Do I create, listen and perform well enough? (Diane Tompson)

  • Am I as down to earth with my ideas as Christopher Quinn

  • Reflects my business the: quotation people + service = success (Daniel Hanna)

  • Have I defined what success for my business looks like? (Katherine Legg)

  • Do I anticipate on that nothing is for life (Polly Venning)

  • As I want to create awareness about conservation, is my business giving children the option to experience a single event that might impact on future decisions later in life (Vanessa Goodwin)

  • Is my business in the right place to surf the waves? (Colin Jones)

  • Is my business an answer to what people are attracted to? (Colin Jones)

  • Is my business starting in the most creative way, thus without money? (Colin Jones)

  • Is my business using all sorts of platforms to promote myself in a way as Jessica Taylor did?

  • Do I realise there is no mainstream (Kelly Drummond Cawthon) and that a niche can turn into a mass (Damon Wise)

  • Is my business really reflecting what I want? (Jaspa Wood)

  • Is my business understanding culture differences (Anna Reynolds)

  • Is my product good, does it makes someones life beter and does my business solve a problem? (Tony Bonney)

I was so impressed with all the speakers. I really learnt a lot about the necessities required before you venture into a business. That helps a lot and with all those techniques you will never go wrong.

Thank you all

John

I have come away from this weekend feeling privileged, inspired, humoured and informed! The variety and combined knowledge that the speakers provided was priceless.  I gained something from almost every speaker but the stand out ones were Jac Bower, Rick Marton, Polly and Diane.

I found the frankness of the lovely lady who spoke about 'spanner in the works' to be honest and raw and very realistic - I appreciated her frankness and articulation between ideas and reality.

Jac was an amazing story - in Tasmania, single mums get a really bad wrap but Jacs inspiration showed me that being a single mum doesn't have to define you, it gives you a renewed purpose.  The fact that she created a network of friends that she was able to do a full circle to rely on when she needed it most and to succeed is a fantastic innovation!

But as always, it is Col who inspires me with his laid back yet achieveable method of delivery ! Thanks Col and Paul and all of the lovely people I met this weekend

Thanks Polly Venning for sharing your passion. Very thought provoking question what would happen if you were actively encouraging good people to leave your organisation? No one person is the sum of the organisation, no one is irreplaceable. The song 'let it go' came to mind

From a branding perspective:

“Awareness versus relevance” – Rick Marton, Effective Naturally

“Important to define what you are not” – Kath McCann, Wrest Point

And my all time favourite...

People forget what you say, may forget what you do, but NEVER forget how you make them feel – sorry, can’t remember where this pearl came from – it translates across all facets of our lives, guess that’s why it works for me :)

Ok, well maybe that boat has sailed...or it it a ship ?

What an awesome group of speakers/presenters. I couldn't possibly choose a favourite, however I am in awe - much respect to Jac Bowie for her warts and all approach.

She was entertaining, polished, professional and engaging - loved that she shared her less success experiences with us and the success that grew from those experiences.

Tracy

thanks Colin and Paul for providing such a great opportunity to learn.

I took away lots of ideas.

I liked what Rick had to share - challenging us to think why cusotmers would choose you and how do we convert a customer into a believer.

I'm lookign forward to tomorrow.

Marina
